The Lit from Within Project
We are a grassroots, fundraising and community-building platform to support the integration of yoga into addiction recovery programs.
The Work: Yoga for Recovery
The Lit from Within Project is a fundraising and community building platform founded by yoga teachers Shauna Nyrose, Chelsea Ray and Pam Rader.
The mandate is to raise funds to support the integration of yoga into existing recovery programs; to facilitate specialized training for yoga teachers; fund research and new program development and provide a community resource ‘hub’ for groups and individuals already doing this work; we aim to connect the service to the front-line and where need be, subsidize and fund where there are shortages in resources, financial or otherwise.

The Lit From Within Project is the collaborative effort of Okanagan yoga teachers; Pam Rader, Chelsea Ray and Shauna Nyrose.
Although we have known each other for years, it wasn’t until we were brought together as Ambassadors for our local Lululemon, that we realized we shared, for our own personal reasons, a profound sense of purpose around helping those suffering with addiction. And so, The Lit From Within Project was borne.
This intentionally grass-roots platform, aims to specifically support the addiction recovery process in the best way we know how – through yoga, meditation and spiritual discovery.
Fundraising and Event Manager
Let’s face it, the real muscle behind this team goes to Shanna. She takes care of the little things, making our events truly amazing experiences. An experienced event planner, wife and Mom of two, Shanna is an exceptional asset to the Lit From Within Project team.
